Ripple asking for evidence of consumption

#1

Post by John_S »

This morning my Ripple dashboard had a message asking me to provide evidence of consumption equalling my purchased capacity.

I have provided two electricity bills from Octopus at the time of my application for Kirk Hill showing an annual run rate of more than my estimated consumption. I hope that this is sufficient as cost of living issues caused me to reduce EV usage and my actual annual consumption was a bit lower than the estimate.

Anyone else had similar?

A few weeks back so I uploaded Nov bill which was a cracker, not heard ftom them since.

Edit, just checked off the back of this thread and it says evidence approved. So for folk going forward 4 to 6 weeks wait once evidence submitted is nothing to worry about.

No but I also don't want to look at the dashboard too often whilst KH is non operational, (bit chomping) ..however If your initial statement involved in watts purchase was good enough for them then, what is up with it (them) now?

There are so many variables that the "few" box tick options (still in use in feb 2023) it is so badly thought out it is laughable, ..I had a problem with it from the start, thus turbid waters down the line once deemed acecepted & monoes paid does not surprise me in the least.

Live chat for verification of why's & wherefores necessary for some proper insight I reckon.

I haven't suffered the same experience as you Mr G but have always found them very responsive when seeking answers via the chat box.

?
I haven't had a bad experience with them to date, just exasperated at the lazy minimal "this is you" box exercise which is about as realistic as a quiz mulch that defines you by the end line
"if you mainly answered as A's" type thing ..then it questionable & they set themselves up for a fall.

Many folk investing in ripple / supply from octopus (or the two combined) could well be efficiency tweakers & many more new to the EV, heat pump (house or white goods) & solar game, both of which throw measured energy use numbers around like a "clapometer"

I've had success talking to Octopus & ripple people as an individual also, the sane route out of assumptions & confusion at either end.

If you had bought more than enough to generate 6999 kWh it would have been an automatic request. Did you not get a confirmation acceptance email from Ripple after the two bills you sent ?

I have had three confirmations, one after applying for Graig Fatha, I did not send a bill but a list of reasons why my leccy consumption was going to increase.

Second one was another list of reasons why my leccy was going to increase in order to apply for KirkHill.

And another one recently when I sent a consumption graph from my SMA system in anticipation for project 3. Ripple queried whether it was all imported power, or was some from my solar panels. I had to revise my estimate downwards but they still accepted a rather optimistic estimate, i.e. they don't know the size of my PV array.
18.7kW PV > 109MWh generated
Ripple 6.6kW Wind + 4.5kW PV > 27MWh generated
6 Other RE Coop's
105kWh EV storage
60kWh Home battery storage
40kWh Thermal storage
GSHP + A2A HP's
Rain water use > 510 m3

Your consumption could have gone down since the initial purchase due to energy prices rises and making a better effort and reducing energy consumption
