Welcome PH, if you are planning to stop here awhile then Nowty will be itching to add your power generation potential to the cumulative list. :)

The good chap has done his sig.

@Ph. any idea how many kWh your wind turbine generates in an average year ?

The problem with estimating WT's is they are extremely variable depending on location.
18.7kW PV > 109MWh generated
Ripple 6.6kW Wind + 4.5kW PV > 26MWh generated
5 Other RE Coop's
105kWh EV storage
60kWh Home battery storage
40kWh Thermal storage
GSHP + A2A HP's
Rain water use > 510 m3

The heat losses in the charger and the A/C when it kicks in take a relatively larger portion of the energy uptake at lower rates.

The Zoe has ridiculous low efficiency at low charge rates, but it's by design.

Interesting. So when someone says the "consumption" of their EV is say 4 miles / kWh - that is for kWh from the battery. To replace that kWh you need approximately an extra 10% putting back in when you charge it, so actually 1.1kWh actual 'lectic consumed for those 4 miles.

So the actual - real world - consumption is not 4 miles/kWh but 3.64 miles /kWh or have I missed something?

Good to see his Sentry mode was working just fine on his TM3 ;)

That’s about right. It’s quite a significant difference from what they state in any brochure

Yeah but the same thing applies to fuel efficiency claims for petrol cars doesn't it -
if you're achieving 50mpg in the vehicle, that doesn't take into account any of the energy lost in the extraction, refining and transport of the fuel from wheel to pump.
