Does this mean if you screw your system up with batteries, etc, so your actual export can no longer be determined, you could go back to deemed exports ?, the mind boggles. :?:

Latest FIT Rules, dated Aug 2021

Feed-in Tariffs: Guidance for Licensed
Electricity Suppliers

Page 66 - Export status

6.47. If an accredited installation with a total installed capacity of 30kW or less has an export
meter commissioned, the export electricity from that installation will no longer be able to be
deemed. The export meter must be able to measure the amount of electricity exported solely
by the accredited FIT installation. Where an installation with a total installed capacity of 30kW
or less has co-located storage and a meter capable of measuring export (ie a smart meter),
there are some instances where it may not be possible to isolate the export only from the FIT
installation, and therefore it may continued to receive deemed export payments, Please see
our ‘Guidance for generators: Co-location of electricity storage facilities with renewable
generation supported under the Renewables Obligation or Feed-in Tariff schemes’ for more
details. FIT licensees should notify Ofgem to update the CFR accordingly.

@Nowty yes it was after FITS scheme ended. To be frank the £ difference wasnt the end of the world but as our PV install was pre-FITS and got the RO migration rate it was a “principle thing”.

The guidance on retro-fit energy storage and export is less than complete and I did highlight this to OFGEM and BEIS. Naturally, no response.

You would have thought a competent industry regulator would have wanted to improve guidance as edge cases became apparent on the basis of continuous improvement …..nah. How nieve of me!

There is a way to navigate the regulation and updated OFGEM approach on export payments for the OP’s desired outcome I will PM him direct on that.
