Loop smart meter app

#1

Post by richbee »

Does anyone use the Loop smart meter app? I've seen it advertised, it would be helpful to get easy access to smart meter data on my phone instead of having to manually get it from my display unit.
Not sure why, they seem to want credit card details, which is odd for a free app?

Never used it, but did you see this about the card details? https://kb.loop.homes/why-do-i-need-to- ... mart-meter

I quite like Bright; ordered their IHD display recently and now have 10-second MQTT data from my electricity meter too, very useful.

I would think it's for security, trouble is everyone now thinks "where is my data going now".

Use a credit card not a bank card. You will have more protection.

Is the Loop any better than a Octopus Mini?

Is this just the ordinary loop app?
I have the app but it cannot work out your tariff but does give the correct usage.
Always astounds me how they have the data with 1-2 hrs of usage and octopus can be 12 hours +

Thank you.
With the Mini I'm getting previous day's consumption by about 8 am but can't get the breakdown of when the power was used. Is there a way?
I can see when leccy was used on the Lux dashboard but not in a usable format.

It is if you are on the wait list for the Octopus Mini.

Yes, just the app.
I'm mainly interested in getting the previous day's figures by app instead of having to look at the little box in the kitchen - I currently record my daily usage along with my solar output from its own app and the smart display only holds daily figures for 7 days, so if we're away then you can lose some of the data
