It's going to happen as soon as battery electric vans get cheap enough. Camper vans are just too much of a niche market to justify their own platform.

Every mode of transport (apart from the horse) has a polluting downside.

Used to be a massive problem in cities.

I fly 4 times per year on average so 8 flights total. Or 136 imperial gallons jet fuel per year.

You're looking at ~2 tonnes of CO₂ a year, give or take.

I enjoy rail travel and have done a fair bit of it around Europe, India and fortunate In also Japan. Its a mixed bag though, most of it remains diesel, electric is great if you can find it and have the luxury of time to research.and choose. Last time I used TGV was between Paris/Brussels. Well impressed with the pace but not the stop/start nature of that pace and tbh the carriages were dirty. Compared to the Shinkansen they were bogging. As I say, a mixed bag but I'm all for it. I fancy the Paris to Shanghai run one day just for the craick with a stop off on the Asian Steppe for a few days. When I do that one I'm going to walk out my front door with my backpack on and begin with the 1 mile walk down to my local train station.

Train travel is the last thing I want to take in the uk based on decades of "take it or leave it" & dump, delay & defecate attitude to travellers.

A delayed flight, even by several days has by contrast presented zero problems as the firms took ownership within a short time each time.

The problem with the train service remains the service relative to the cost.

From where I’m sitting to the corner is approx 10m. Roof has a 15.5o pitch.

The ‘slate’ are reformed (resin and slate dust), interlocking slates spec’s down to 15o, as is the Velux that’s just to the left hand side of the pic.
