Just dig a pit & landfill it when it's looking "tired" in year 21.. cost effective innit!
Course by then we'll all be dead (so no problem) OR, flying fusion vehicles like the jetsons (minimal tyre pollution) Sorted!
& of course, on time nuclear reactor projects are as safe as houses & the energy will be too cheap to meter...
The politician backed corporate scientists promised us right?
Seriously though, if regular commercial solar farms are trashing panels after a mere 7 years, what plans do ripple have where returns & tech are concerned down the line? (you likely won't get a straight answer from them as is normal)

Re: Ripple project 3 webinar date
Ripple wont have any plans as its the CoOp who owns the asset so it will be up to members, and its one member one vote.

Re: Ripple project 3 webinar date
Understood (thanks for the reminder Nowty) however I feel that time & "could have" productivity figures may become a bone of contention, unlike a wt where once it's up it's up for the full duration, the perceived opportunity to make more watts by more efficient panels is a push pull with fall out potential (as it would obviously need another cash injection)
I would like to be able to see how it was presented to investment groups who did swap out panels as to their reasoning & forecast, because it will be a lesson in itself.

Re: Ripple project 3 webinar date
So you invest for various reasons, and you cover 100% of your electricity consumption
If you are in credit can this saving amount also be used to pay for say gas with the same supplier?
So further reduction in electricity usage helps ‘pay’ for a gas?

Re: Ripple project 3 webinar date
Exactly. The money from the monthly Ripple microgeneration is credited to your supplier at the start of each month for the prior month's generation. If you are dual fuel with the same provider (Octopus in my case) then it benefits for both electricity and gas. If you build up an excess of credit and don't burn through it in the Winter then you can draw it out as cash.
