Boom, we had to wait a few days for it to be verified, but the carbon intensity record was smashed on Easter Monday 10th April 2023 as I suspected.
The new record low is now 33 g/kWh, down from 39 g/kWh on another Easter Monday back on 5th April in 2021.
(nowtyrecord for searching)

18.7kW PV > 109MWh generated
Ripple 6.6kW Wind + 4.5kW PV > 26MWh generated
5 Other RE Coop's
105kWh EV storage
60kWh Home battery storage
40kWh Thermal storage
GSHP + A2A HP's
Rain water use > 510 m3

I think there is a chance of the solar peak record going next week too.

Let's hope so - lots of solar does keep being installed so it ought to happen at some point.

Great to see a new record and no doubt due to the recent sharp increase in solar installs.
For instance, January saw the UK install 69.5 MW's of PV, the highest figure since January 2016. Coincidentally this represents 1.01W per person of our population. Of the UK total capacity, 25% is made up of installs under 10 kW's.
Just to put this into perspective, China with a population of 1.454 billion installed 7 W/person while the Netherlands, with but a quarter of our population installed an impressive 18 W/person in the same month.
Apologies if it takes the shine off it just a little.

Where do you get these figures from? (genuinely curious about monitoring UK installed capacity)

We have not broken the solar one yet, that ones still 9.839 MW on 22nd April 2021.

National grid gets it in conjunction with https://www.solar.sheffield.ac.uk/pvlive/
They monitor a number of solar installations throughout the country and make an estimate in real time. Arguably there are some DIY installs that are not counted.

There is government info on monthly solar installs here,
https://www.gov.uk/government/statistic ... deployment

Perfect. Thank you.

Do you reckon that info come from DNO? I know from when I notified my DNO about my install, it took them about 3 months to acknowledge my email so there may be a fair lag in the information.

Looks like Sheffield need to update their installed capacity though.

If it helps, then for the actual installed capacity of PV in the UK I obtained the figures from the site below.
