Haven't actually bought one of their server rack batteries, but they seem decent quality. I probably would consider one if I didn't already have a full complement of storage.

They're a pretty recent addition to the lineup I think. Essentially a custom-designed case with 16 EVE cells in it. You could produce something very similar yourself with the Seplos case + cells + a BMS - not sure which one they use to be honest. And you might have more luck with a warranty with them if you buy their premade set?

As a company, Fogstar seem fine. I've bought a couple of BMSes from them, arrived quickly and all works fine. I might get a few extra 280Ah cells from them at some point rather than wait for the China slowboat again. I know my dad's after building a 12v LiFePO4 stack for his caravan so they'll probably come from there for starters :)

Fog have been around for a good few years, & I have never heard anything bad about them, whether that is down to good service, spec & information I do not know, but they are very established and cited as a "go to" in the serious (heavy) vaper market.

Whilst I have no doubt they sell a vast array suited for the job (pending user nous) it won't have been a straightforward ride, seeing as "stats are for nerds" & advice given can be seen as boring the t**s off people ..who latterly state they were mis-sold.

That's vape though, for home installs, I guess you want to see a decent wedge of decent installation feedback from people with a bit of nous (not necessarily your average customer) ..without intending to be rude.

Who knows till we see how they roll after 12 months product familiarisation, ..hopefully they'll deal with their errors in a proactive manner for their 1st tranche of this product (not like tesla, context, our naff tesla is an early production unit (you get what you get assigned with them) & presumably thats why we have such a complete DOG of a model 3, ..my advice has always been don't accept the firs 500 units, of a new production run, shame we had no control over that with the FRWanken-tesla ...now known as "Abby normal" in this household.

Who is the uk distribution arm for this venture? is assistance in china or a uk phonecall away?
How does the overall price for kit you build yourself factor against kit you order, then build yourself at this point in time?

Fogstar - very reputable UK company. Never seen anything bad about them and pricing is not too bad. Yes you will get it cheaper "via the slow boat from China" but they are a UK supplier with the commensurate consumer protection that comes with that.

If you go "direct to China" via Alibaba or Aliexpress and want "turn key" complete kit in a nice box, then go Seplos.

For audiophile equipment I'd apply this for sure, the buyers are a hard audience at the best of times.

(especially the olive oil cotton bud types)
