Today is a good illustration of the problem of consuming the power in summer.

Battery SoC at midnight was 51%, the day started out grey, but I knew the sun'd come out at some point, so we got the washer/dishwasher on first thing, 2nd load followed the first in the washer and 1st straight into the tumbler, got the onions cooking for a mini-batch of bolognese, cranked the freezer up to -25℃ with a couple of large tubs of salt water in there, dehumidifier running in the bedroom.

Despite all that effort here we are at 1pm with the battery at 75% SoC and over 4kW coming in from the sky!
12x 340W JA Solar panels (4.08kWp)
3x 380W JA Solar panels (1.14kWp)
5x 2.4kWh Pylontech batteries (12kWh)
LuxPower inverter/charger

There’s something comforting, other than temp, about a fire - the Danish would say Hygge.

All year wear down here is shorts and T, although I haven’t seen a T when around the house/garden since April.

Tan’s coming on, mind.
Hygge, now there's an excellent word and concept. Thanks for that BTB, my learning for the day. Today we are over run with solar and I have 4.8 kW of storage heaters on. WBS likely not needed this evening! 7.6kW incoming consistent at the moment.

Today the temp and humidity is rising and its the first aircon day here at nowty towers, I suspect its going to be on now most days for the foreseeable.

22℃ and sunny for me today even with 61% humidity that isn’t cause for AC.

28℃ tomorrow though and that is definitely cause for the AC to stretch its legs…

National grid currently receiving 8.9 GW's from PV. Are we getting anywhere near the record?

Although never announced via the media, the record is now 10.148 GW on 20th April 2023. It was retrospectively given around a month later when the installation numbers were updated as they lag somewhat.

https://www.solar.sheffield.ac.uk/pvlive/

We had 9.67 GW on 2nd June from the live numbers so if there is a retrospective increase, that day would probably win over today.

Highest number of domestic installs for 7 years went in during the first quarter of this year.
I've noticed a few more going up in my area recently.

Many thanks Nowty, thought we must be getting somewhere close given the increase in PV installations in the last few months.

Yesterday was an incredible day. 57.5kWh generated here at home and 85% soc here at home Sunday 09.00hrs.

I think I need to open up the hot tub heater and disconnect one of the elements then recommission the tub. That will soak up some of it. 8-)

It could not last forever, but thats possibly the best continuous maxed out generation I've ever had, it was also continuously over 50 kWh every day since 20th May.

And even now its enough to comfortably run everything including the aircon.
