Just showing off! 👌
I was attempting to illustrate the dangers of Stinsy's post about high voltage inverters, not your system.

I don't see an 8% increase in efficiency something worth gaining for the dangers it poses to DIY folk.

The real danger of homebuild systems is accidental shorting. How much current could’ve been drawn had you dropped a spanner across those terminals?
An awful amount instantaneously but thats what a suitable fuse hierarchy is for.

As an anecdote, within 10 minutes of adding the hally racket passive and active cooling the Victron system was outputting 3,250W. The past few weeks it has been hitting 3,100W and deadheading there.

I will keep an eye out if the strong days continue but it looks as if there may have been some thermal throttling by the Victron controller. Only an anecdote but hell of a coincidence.
A friend of mine had their Solis inverter go bang earlier this week, big capacitor or something let go and literally ruptured the metal enclosure with the force.
In this case, I'm sure it was an existing issue exacerbated by the recent heat, but it does show the effect high temps can have.

In addition for those passing through not knowing the system. My Victron controller is good for 60 deg c so, 54 deg c is well within.spec. The idiosyncrasies of my DIY build places the V controller in a nook largely shielded from open garage door airflow by the solaredge inverter to the left and the goodwe hybrid inverter to the right (windward side).. in addition, above is a platform carrying batteries. Essentially its boxed in with little beneficial cross draught.

Not an.issue on 90%+ Scottish days. Glad I spotted it and will engineer a more permanent fan solution soon. Tomorrow I'll play about more & observe. :D

I REALLY enjoyed this today, great fun. ;)

Today has been rather spectacular with a momentary combined peak of 8.6kW incoming from the PV systems. I have run the small fan on an almost throwaway battery pack and it is still going strong after 5 hours. Temperature achieved today as the fan has been running longer is 32 deg down from yesterday's 54 deg.

I find that quite amazing for what is almost no effort.

A graph showing the Victrons peak today compared to the last few days. :o

Happy Fathers day lads. :D

Great, always think the excessive heat kills the electronics and anything to get rid of it will improve longevity

Totally agree there. Get the heat off the board ASAP.

If any of you remember lucky bags? That's where this wee battery pack belongs in my mind. Yet it ran the fan from early doors this morning and I've just switched it off to squeak a portable solar charge into it. Purely for the joy and the craick! :D

It's all waning now anyway with 1.5kW incoming from the Victron system and sub 30 deg temp on the controller so not worried. 8-)
Another couple of hours to run though which is nice as it will all go into EV.
