SWMBO is taking the wee one from yesterday up to her Mum's, there is much excitement at Mum's place!

SWMBO is also collecting another small basket type air fryer today. We will take it with us tomorrow in the Bongo as we are having an overnighter back in our wedding town (30 yrs) and as the place has an electric hookup in the price I thought 'why not' for Sat morning sausage cook. If its a decent enough unit and small enough it may stay with the van. Next up is one for Edinburgh and one for No1 son.

I passed a pleasant hour changing out a door glass, door glass rope, door rope and soot filter on the WBS today. The door rope has lasted a little over two years and although it looked OK it was in truth knackered in comparison to the new rope. Surprise of the day was that our doorglass is actually two panes of glass. The glass seal fell apart on dismantling. New inner pane fitted.

Massive difference in thickness when compared against new glass seal.

Having seen how worn the seals were on both door and glass I'd throw it out there if anyone hasn't looked at their seals on WBS for a while that it is worth doing.

Blacked the stove at same time, looking good! Great to see the flames clearly again.

I think I might have used the grill of ours on its own first time yesterday (sheese on toes) & it worked a treat.
The only thing i'm sceptical of are the pre-sets for defined foodstuffs, otherwise no concerns, being an instantpot multi purpose jobbie it doesn't have all those buttons, we just use temp, time, turn protocol (you do need to keep an eye on em in part because they are that fast, in part due to familiarity or not hearing the finished timer (the heatsink on ours is a blinkin terror, so it is good to steam some rice / potatoes (whatever) then swap lids out & use the heat to start the air fryer in ...maybe 8 seconds flat, allowing the tatties / rice to cool a bit*

*doesn't appreciate mouth blisters.

My "experience" (laziness) with faux meat is a lesson in learning there are limits, it doesn't air fry well, may as well give it 3 mins induction to brown in a bit of oil / butter where those things are concerned.

Out for the night in van of enormous power. Finally took advantage of Mr Gus's link from back up the timestream.

Heading down to Edinburgh for Xmas with the kids so bought No1 son a brewdog hamper along with and let's not kid on, a load of brewdog 24's. Good to see 5am Saint up there, get some!

Basically..... sauces, beers, blinis. Oh aye,chilli nuts too.

Yon torrential tropical style rain fell today. Deeply impressive to see and hear. SWMBO n me did some batch cooking in the earlier part of the day when the incoming kW was high (lamb curry, chilli con & pasta n meatballs), defrosted a garage freezer and kicked back in the evening with Witcher 3 EP01 and some cab suav.

It hit me at one point in the evening that we were running sub 400W all evening from the garage stacks, a bit of a mental doubletake at this reality. WBS was also on, gently heating kettle and lightly offsetting the temp drop (as was an afternoon charged SH).

This is definitely the first year I've felt that it's all under control, correctly balanced and meshed.

Also started work on a pallet wall which will be used to improve a view of a sun scorched hedge section (used to be a greenhouse there years ago).
