Pylon / Lux oddity ….
Re: Pylon / Lux oddity ….
Quick question for those of you with Luxpower 3600 ACS (Parallel) inverters at home. Do you know what firmware your inverters have at teh moment, or what the most recent firmware version is? I'm trying to track down an issue I'm experiencing but I can't find any information regarding firmware on the internet, and the mobile app lists the following firmware as downloadable:
BAAB-08xx_App_221109.hex
BAAB-xx08_075.hex
bAAB-xx08_375.hex
Both of my inverters are on the BAAB_0808 version.
Thanks.
Edit: Issue resolved with the two inverters not wanting to charge or discharge to the maximum amount. You need to manually set the maximum charge and discharge current to the relevant amount (in the case of three Pylontech US5000 China set it to 130A max and it works fine). Swift solution from Luxpowertek, email sent and five hours later they had resolved the issue. Much better than the installer who didn't have a clue.

Re: Pylon / Lux oddity ….
End users can self update the firmware at any time now.
Re: Pylon / Lux oddity ….
That doesnt help if you get a choice of three different firmware with no documentation to say which is newest

Re: Pylon / Lux oddity ….
The app automatically installs the correct firmware in the correct order.
It will download all available firmwares

Re: Pylon / Lux oddity ….
The app doesn’t download the firmware on the actual inverter - does it?
I’ve always asked the guys in China & they’ve done it for me. Support is haphazard enough on the ACS units as it is & I don’t really want to screw things up by doing it myself
I’ll eyeball my devices later - they are in the roof!

The app now will pre-download the firmwares to your phone and then send them to the inverter for installation. All automated and end user initialized.
It's done via local connection. The local connection also now exposes alot of non-user facing settings which I'm sure will be fixed in the next release.

Thanks for that, I’d wondered what the “download firmware” button on the app was for ……
Re: Pylon / Lux oddity ….
Yeah, the app downloads and then connect the phone to the WiFi connection for each inverter to install.
The problem is that the user does not know what they are installing, if it's the latest version or what the changes are. It's a data security nightmare, ready for a man in the middle attack that could brick the router. I believe in that scenario all other parties would place the blame on the user and wash their hands, and leave the user to pay for new inverters. No way would I install firmware with no documentation.
Safer to just email the manufacturer.

That’s what I do anyway, plus, my Lux units don’t have Wi-Fi. They did when originally installed, but I fitted the wired Ethernet LAN dongles when they became available. I’m a firm believer that Wi-Fi should only really be used for handheld devices, with anything that can having a wired connection
