Another couple of local balcony type installations.

This one in the next street has had panels on the roof for a while but added the vertical panels on the wall recently.

Perhaps I'm biased, but I'd argue that the panels (roof and wall) in the first pic, add to the overall look of that property. It really looks great to me.

I'm sure some people* could argue that it doesn't look better, but certainly hard to claim it looks worse.

*Not on here, I mean grumbly, negative people who maybe don't appreciate the value of RE in general.

Not balcony but roundabout furniture in the nearby town. If you click to go forwards the tracker is in a different position. I think this has been there for at least 15 if not 20 years. There is also a pv covered parking area at the old leisure centre at the other end of the town.

A couple of years back (likely during lockdown) I saw a car in the mature tree of an MK roundabout, pretty high up, on the basis of so many _@nker uk wanna-be Carlos Fandango's I'd hope uk councils would raise it some more to reduce the results of tw@tboys (sweep up, repair replace costings)

Does Austra grit roads in thesame way we do, I really have no idea? I never saw a gritter in Switzerland when I was therefor a period due to work.

Likely not Paul, but question is worth asking, we have a lot of roundabouts & it's a reality of gritters here at least.
(as is impact potential for any road detritus build up, pinged off tyres) ...been hit by a good few pinging stones off vehicle wheels over the years whilst walking or on the bike.

When i've gone to the Verbier street cleaning snow dump there is a lot of grit.
In Canada, the spring clean up is very grit & sand heavy (blows in your eyes) whilst they wait for the melt, & out there we are used to driving on thick ice for the winter seasons.

No we do it much better! The main inhabited section of our valley is about 20kM long, we are halfway along the valley. When it snows they run 2 ploughs with gritters on them up and down the valley constantly, they usually pass each other in our village. This means while it is snowing (even during the night) it is never more than an hour since it was ploughed and gritted in the direction you are travelling. Most of the minor roads in the village are cleared and gritted either by the local council or if the road is unadopted is cleared by local farmers.
I am not aware of any damage to the tracker or panels caused by gritters.
