Hi Nowty,

Can I ask how you spliced this into the existing heating system, I know you kept your gas boiler .

Do you have a manual set of valves to swap in/out of existing heating circuit?
Thanks in advance.

Just plotting😃

A lot of hard work, some of the pipe bends took me days to achieve.

Both HP and Gas Boiler are plumbed in parallel into the heating circuit but I added a one way valve into the output of the gas boiler flow pipe in order that the HP would not waste energy pumping the hot water around the heat exchanger of the gas boiler. I wanted to put in a zone valve to isolate the gas boiler out but I just had no room to fit one.

There are also two WiFi controlled zone valves which can isolate the HP flow pipe from the heating circuit and / or the DHW circuit. Note the isolation only works on the flow pipes so I still utilise the expansion vessel in the gas boiler for both heating sources as the pressure can equalise through the return pipes.

EDIT - I also have full bore manual isolation valves on the heatpump side for both flow and return in case I ever need to isolate the heatpump side from my heating circuit.
