That was in its own way quite an interesting day. 🤔

I have tried to slide power use around a little to align with the post 10.00 pm drop off in cost.

I've genuinely tried to live as normal a day as usual 🙃 although I am now slightly more switched on with regard to what I'm doing here.

Leaving the aircon on in bedroom set at same temp overnight as I dont wish to skew a casual comparison. I am interested to see if a raised awareness equates to a lower use. 🤔 The only change is a powerbrick was plugged in at 10.10pm.

Now I know about the high costs 5pm to 10pm I'll happily timeshift powerbrick charging until I can get my 2nd solar panel here again, makes for lowcost network box running. Damn those backpacked steaks for taking up space on the way out!

I'll take readings tomorrow but I expect a 15% cut in power use solely due to my raised awareness. Surely?

Just seen a grid system in a travel agency. Looks like two large sealed batteries and an inverter. No solar panels.

I was told that local law won't allow solar canopies etc. :(

Fudge, did the same person explain what was or whether it is for historic areas / town centre shopping areas etc?

A friend has a holiday home in Italy. There it is illegal to self-consume electricity. If you have solar panels you have to sell all the electricity they generate to the power company for a pittance, and buy it back again at a much higher rate. Apparently this law is commonly flouted...
12x 340W JA Solar panels (4.08kWp)
3x 380W JA Solar panels (1.14kWp)
5x 2.4kWh Pylontech batteries (12kWh)
LuxPower inverter/charger

(Artist formally known as ******, well it should be obvious enough to those for whom such things are important.)

It is all very human in planning and execution. In other words a mishmash of greed, envy, short-sightedness and position protection. Very sad indeed. I try to stay with sad and not think of some walking bag of water saying what can be done with the energy from our local star.

Makes my fists itch, and breathe.......

I'm glad to hear of these laws being flouted, 👍.

On the local decision on business properties or solar I'm not sure as in the next village over (Icmeler) it can be done. Yet both Icmeler & Turunc (my place) come under the auspices of Marmaris council. There is then the power battle between Marmaris & regional city Mugla as to who is responsible for what. It can literally split a single street with work being done at one end but not the other.

The best plan is to ignore the lot and just crack on when ye can. 👌 :D

Well, if you maybe buy some small glass (waterproof) sun reflectors to help with your tan up by the roof pool that fold flat to double up as a drinks table, conveniently mounted on window hinges to facilitate "crumb cleaning" ..that just happen to also produce lectrickery & keep them low-ish & charge some batteries with em!?

But to also satisfy curiosity what are they allowed down the road?

Is there a local rag? maybe mention to the council, you had to put off a buyer to the area when you "told them" no renewables ;) ..see what the reply & reasoning is.
