No thankfully the EV detects obstructions and jambs the break on.
That’s approx 4 cubic metres to start the burning season.
With a store for kindling too.

Going to dig some paint out next, paint some timber mouldings and get the secondary glazing fitted next week in the vestibule.
Will be good to monitor temps pre glazing change and after glazing change

Happy days! Is the secondary glazing an annual thing 🤔 seems a good idea.

No it’s the window above the front door, all existing Victorian.

Added draught strip to the door last year, with a new timber facing externally almost creating another timber doorstop with a rebate routered in for a rubber strip, the window has a pattern so a double glazed unit fixed inside the vestibule with new timbers to ‘hide’ the modern unit.

Should make a difference..

My earlier morning prediction of rain tailing off proved wildly optimistic.

Even with weather like this and running power tools in the house (solar charged grinder & 230v sander) we are managing to maintain the battery stack at 78% soc. :D

I'm not bragging on this (much) but this defo feels like vindication of the work put in. Both ends, generation, storage and effective use of power, all coupled to air control and insulation. For anyone still growing their RE 🌎 the one's i've found most effective are insulation/air control along with effective use of power.

Sure, I get a kick out of the solar and independence of storage but they're not much use if you can't make em work hard for you before escaping?

I really enjoy the shoulder months as its you against the elements and no excuses 💪.

15A fusewire very badly soldered in place on WMC unit to see which component fails next.

Will vise mount and test on a sunny day.

We've pollarded about 8 trees shading the panels in the AM. This is the first day when I could really see the difference visually. Had a look on solaredge to see the power difference. Quite a moment.

Might sound obvious and I'm probably quite an extreme case. Keep an eye on the 😎 lads!

The felling continues, needed a comealong and four wedges and it still tried to go the wrong way on me! My fault for wanting to keep it at 8 foot. Nonetheless the sky is looking good!

It has been a great day with tree pollard, 2nd hand furniture. Heard about a archimedes screw hydro when out and about so will have to walk the river looking for that. Also bought a load of 1 season old birdboxes for a natural fence project that leapt fully formed into our minds today.

Closed a RE circle too. All Winter I was taking the wood Ash from the WBS and depositing it at the base of our apple trees.

Swmbo & I just finished processing through the crop from one tree. Loads of 1 kilo batches of peeled/chopped in old bread bags now in the second hand chest freezer. The circle closed when we started to reduce down the remainder on the WBS for cakes over the weekend. :D This is glorious.
