Does your original quote specify a Gen2 that was to be installed?
[/quote]

It does specify a Gen 2 inverter and when I was going through my options he was quoting replacing the gen 2 with a gen 3.
I’ll be on the phone today about it.
The whole install was delayed waiting for the inverter as well!

If he's not prepared to rectify the "mistake" at his cost, look at small claims court. If you've paid anything by credit card they're also jointly responsible to resolve the situation.

My Octoplus results have just come in for the 16/11/23 saving session.

2.81 kWh saved (exported) at £2.25/kWh, 5064 points, equates to £6.33 credit.

Used @nowty calculation method, so historical import/export was basically 0 kWh, and I forced an export of 2.81 kWh across the 2 half hour periods.

14664 points here.
Lost a kWh of export as the iboost decided to switch itself on.
Also ramped up the 5-6.30 pm slot the previous day as well

Me too, opted in for the very first time, but didn’t do anything different and got 93p worth of points.

They have kindly let me have access to their Octopus account so I can do some number crunching and see if it matches how many Octopoints they get. I will have to wait till tomorrow to get their exact session data off but I've already calculated their last 10 working day baselines for each half hour slots. :geek:

Image

Baseline
0.007 kWh net import for 17:30 to 18:00.
0.007 kWh net import for 18:00 to 18:30.

I now have their actual export numbers,
Image

0.858 kWh net export for 17:30 to 18:00.
0.875 kWh net export for 18:00 to 18:30.

So I make that a delta from the baseline of,
0.858 - 0.007 = 0.851 kWh for 17:30 to 18:00.
0.875 - 0.007 = 0.868 kWh for 18:00 to 18:30.

So a total delta of 0.851 + 0.868 = 1.719 kWh

Forecasted Reward
1.719 x £2.25 = £3.86 or 3088 Octopoints

Now we need to wait for the actual results to come in and compare.
The results of 1.76 kWh or 3160 Octopoints slightly exceeded my calculations, I can see what I got wrong now.

As the baseline was a very small import I should have added that to the net export instead of subtracting it.

Therefore for the delta from the baseline should have been,
0.858 + 0.007 = 0.865 kWh for 17:30 to 18:00.
0.875 + 0.007 = 0.882 kWh for 18:00 to 18:30.

So a total delta of 0.865 + 0.882 = 1.747 kWh or 3144 but thats still not enough.

I know there was something I was not 100% clear about in the blurb, and that was whether to use the net import / export or simply zero the import / export in each half hour period whichever was the smallest. It turns out its the latter, if that makes any sense.

Therefore check by ignoring the smaller export elements in the baseline numbers, that increases the import baseline by 0.005 kWh and therefore the saving. And also ignore the small imports during the actual session, that increases the saving session by another 0.003 kWh.

1.747 + 0.005 + 0.003 = 1.755 which to 2 decimal places is 1.76 kWh. :joker:
