A very nice start to the month today, a cold, crisp and sunny day. Only 3 weeks to the winter solstice!

SWMBO & I were speaking the other day and we both agree that this year feels like a far more cohesive whole in our RE world. the final pieces seem to have clicked into place and its all working well. The bigger battery pack made a huge difference towards confidence and freeing up Winter behavior.

It's great to see the SH system working flawlessly and silently. Certified to minus 8 and hoping we don't have to test any lower and use up the SH systems remaining capacity.

I stand amazed that the wee birdies survive this. Doing what we can with nuts, seeds, fat balls and brown bread, paying close attention to ground feeders too. They really like the mixed nuts soaked in lorne steak sausage fat.

The birds out with me have it sussed, I let the dog out in the morning when I get up, he barks to get back in
(at side door) the birds appear in the tree beside the door and wait to get fed. One female Blackbird doesn't wait till I've finished dishing out the food and lands close to my hand. :D

Bit of an emoji problem, selecting "smile" (2nd left top row) gives "VeryHappy" (1st left 5th row) :SOS:

That's impressive going, 11 months with no grid charging?

Definitely winter now - we were away in the van for a couple of nights in the 'warm' part of Scotland (Stranraer) - got back last night to find everything completely covered in snow - only 0.2kWh generated for the day and the house was down to 8 degrees in most rooms, before I boosted it on the way home
Solar PV since July '22:
5.6kWp east/west facing
3.6kW Sunsynk hybrid inverter
2x 5.12kWh Sunsynk batteries
1.6kWp Hoymiles East/West facing PV on the man cave
Ripple DW 2kW
Ripple WB 200W

Horrendous thick black ice up here, saw quite a few post event vehicles off the roads.

On a happier note I particularly enjoy Xmas time for the Amazon boxes which we then convert (not all, some are other use) to firelighters.

Central storage heater had an extra IO boost this morning. For the first time I didn't take advantage of all slots, sun is out so I let the batteries drain a little so the PV systems could kick in. Currently running off morning solar with an almost full stack. Was going to say bliss but just as I thought of it SWMBO fired up the hoover upstairs!

We're having another one of those days when it is -3℃ outside but the sun is shining!

Image

We have gone whole winters before where it is gloomy for 4 consecutive months (seemingly). We've seen a lot of cold/sunny weather this year and the solar/battery/A2A/TG all just works so well together in this kind of weather.
12x 340W JA Solar panels (4.08kWp)
3x 380W JA Solar panels (1.14kWp)
5x 2.4kWh Pylontech batteries (12kWh)
LuxPower inverter/charger

(Artist formally known as ******, well it should be obvious enough to those for whom such things are important.)
