Interesting find - are there any data security issues with chucking your Otcopus API key to a 3rd party website?
I guess I can just regenerate the API key...
Here's mine.
Import only tariff.
Modern 2 bed flat. Live on my own. My baseline consumption is so low anyway that my real world savings end up being tiny, but hey it's the thought that counts.

Did the same for the work studio account - quite a different property, a more impressive set of results!

In theory, yes. However the guy who wrote this is well-known, the code is published for inspection, and no data is stored by the system.

Of all the stuff you do online this is possibly as safe as it gets...

I've never set up the getting-paid-for exporting thing so could've possibly doubled my profit. Maybe I'll set it up, 'till now I've tried to consume everything I generate, but if we can continue buying at 7.5p and selling at 15p it'll be worthwhile charging the battery to 100% in the cheap rate in summer as well as making a tenner here and there on these "saving sessions".

What do you chaps feel about "gaming" some 5-7pm cheap slots here and there to charge the car and up my "baseline" to increase profit. Ethical?

Code: Select all

session	import	export	baseline	saved	reward	earnings
2023-11-16T17:30:00.000Z	0	5.513	-0.0284	5.4846	9872	£12.34
2023-11-29T17:00:00.000Z	0	8.561	-0.552	8.009	25624	£32.03
2023-12-01T16:30:00.000Z	0	8.775	0.351	9.126	29200	£36.50
Quick calculation: second inverter has generated over half of the profit in each case, estimated as around £47.50 of the £80 earned so far. If this carries on (ie all 10 test sessions take place and a further 4 live sessions), then the second inverter will have paid for itself with the DRS sessions, reduced peak use and high rate export on the Flux tariff in a year.
Solar PV: 6.4kW solar PV (Eurener MEPV 400W*16)
PV Inverter: Solis 6kW inverter
Batteries: 14.4kWh LiFePO4 batteries (Pylontech US5000*3)
Battery Inverter: LuxPowertek 3600 ACS*2 battery inverter
WBS: 8kW Hunter Avalon 6 Multifuel burner (wood only)

Superb find Stinsy.

Looks like moving from FIT deemed export to measured SEG export has paid off for me in a single month. :)

The peak rate splurge the day before the last saving session also worked as it pushed my baseline into positive territory.

The missing data for the first one was because my export MPAN was not yet applied and I have aleady received the 8 Octopoints or 1p for that session. I looked at the info in DFS and I needed to have 5 working days of data for my baseline (with export) to be valid. It was applied on 22/11/23 and there was exactly 5 working days prior to the second saving session on 29/11/23. :hysteria:

EDIT - Plus there will be £3.33 to add on for the 22.17 kWh exported during the sessions via my export tariff. ;)

EDIT EDIT - But I'll need to subtract £2.90 for the peak rate splurge the day before the last session.

Lots of people are taking their cut from
all kinds of energy.
I’ve invested a fair amount to be able to take advantage so no reason you shouldn’t.
Most on here are one step ahead of the game, some are 2 or 3 :oO:

Edit: can’t paste my results but they are
£20
£66
£59
I have a high baseline as I use a fair bit of electric
Trying to up my baseline as well, can only export at a max 2.6 and I use roughly 1 kWh during the saving sessions

I only opted in for the last two, the site shows results for all three. the last one shows I got 79p by charging my battery after midday.

I managed to opt in my daughter for the last one and set the so;is to discharge at 50A which seems to have worked and gained £11 less the GO tariff for off peak charging.

If we have more sessions it would be worth my getting an export MPAN

There are another 9 sessions guaranteed until the end of March and maybe more if the cold, still conditions return. The weather forum folk are quite bullish about a cold winter from Xmas onwards. For the next week or two though, it looks too windy and mild.

It took me about 7 weeks to get the export MPAN up and running, then you have to wait another 5 working days to qualify for the min number of baseline readings in your account for it to be eligible for the sessions.
