Re: Part ownership of a Ripple Wind Turbine, fancy it?
I think it is quite a good idea. If Ripple 4 is going to be delayed (and maybe they are beginning to suspect that they have attracted all the likely subscribers) why not cut the commercial loans by letting phase 4 people in "early" - perhaps even sell No. 4 on to another developer?
2.0 kW/4.62 MWh pa in Ripples, 4.5 kWp W-facing pv, 9.5 kWh batt
30 solar thermal tubes, 2MWh pa in Stockport, plus Congleton and Kinlochbervie Hydros,
Most travel by bike, walking or bus/train. Veg, fruit - and Bees!

Re: Part ownership of a Ripple Wind Turbine, fancy it?
The weather likely enough. I'd love to know the comms path route. I guess off the turbine to manufacturers servers, req'd data parsed, sent back to Ripple servers then ran through the virtual splitter programme and finally on to us . If that's the case I can see why there'd be occasional drop outs in weather.

My brother who was registered for P4 has bought into DW today, to add to his inherited GF holding, he cannot believe this months rebate will clear his entire gas and leccy bill.
He is a very low user but I cranked his usage up to 6999 kWh where no questions are asked and he bought near the max.
Unfortunately I am at 138% of a fictitious number.

96.78% CF at the moment @ GF.
Not sure if I can compete with 138% even on a fictional figure. I AM looking forward to tripling up on my WT take come the day.
Also kind of looking forward to the multi unit shake out. A bit hairshirt maybe That thought but just to see a more complicated organism develop.

Just been looking at the REGO prices as there was a comment in one of the Ripple Coop mtg minutes about record prices recently.
Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin, or REGOs, are the certificates used to certify renewable electricity in the UK. For each MWh a renewable generator produces, they can claim a REGO. And recently, they have been rising in price astronomically.
REGO prices have risen astronomically from about 20p per certificate just a few years ago to £25 per REGO last week. That’s a 125x increase. For context, oil prices have only seen a 2x increase over the same period.

By my reckoning it could add around 2.5p / kWh onto the rebates of the ripple projects as energy prices fall.
A very nice cushion.

Houthi rebels are doing their part too. It would be such a good T shirt slogan.
Should cross the £200 single month barrier on Christmas eve. Fingers .
Any more takers on this fine Solstice morning?
The game is name the roi figure for Graig Fatha to a single decimal point for midnight on 28th Feb 2024. In addition and at no extra cost, have a crack at guessing the next years per kWh figure paid by Octopus on Graig Fatha for the year commencing 1st March 2024. You don't have to own any of it to play.
Competition is open until midnight on the 31st Dec 23. Prize is Kudos and a pint in Ayeshire at KH open day.
John S 52.8% and 6p
Joeboy 53.0% and 11.8p
Krill 53.2% and 7.3p
Nowty 53.7% and 7p
Adokforme 54.3% and 8p
