Hello folk, I think I know some of you already, my hobby is energy use reduction (also saves money)

I designed, built and live in a very low energy house, no heating system! Been there 12 years and never cold or too warm.

I help with DraughtBusters, assisting those living in energy poverty and providing information to those wanting less draughts.

I am chair of our community energy society which offers free solar panels to local organisations

I like insulation, airtightness and 3g, comfort, hate flat roofs, parapet walls, internal rainwater pipes, thermal bypass, dot and dab…..

Ah, a refugee from GBF (I've lurked there on and off for a while), welcome Tony. I look forward to the broadening of the church of camelot.

Hi Tony, welcome to the forum. I had a look at your website. Impressive build! I have a few questions…

1) I don’t see any solar PV. Did you include it? What was the decision-making here? How would you approach this if you were building now?

2) How does the interseasonal store work? Is the benefit measurable?

3) You say you don’t want any “polluting energy appliances”. What are these?

4) You list a whole load of fees/charges you managed to avoid. How did you avoid them?
12x 340W JA Solar panels (4.08kWp)
3x 380W JA Solar panels (1.14kWp)
5x 2.4kWh Pylontech batteries (12kWh)
LuxPower inverter/charger

(Artist formally known as ******, well it should be obvious enough to those for whom such things are important.)

Hi Tony and welcome, I'm very impressed with all your achievements and particularly that of helping others. I've also been wracking my brain trying to workout what 3g stands for in your signature and got little further than perhaps something to do with broadband.
Any chance you could put me right there please?
