Open access Supercharger trial begins in The Netherlands
Re: Open access Supercharger trial begins in The Netherlands
Not knowing about the monthly subscription was the tooth sucking moment, now I know & the price parity via a basic big charge to break even & take advantage, i'm all in, no it will not be a hard sell unless you are a numpty.
1 year subscription, versus 1 month subscription adds a lot of versatility to the mix for holidayers, workers & the like.
I hope the next move from tesla will be to battery back up & solar canopise (canapes) the stalls to make for a better wet weather / cooling experience & battery back up to ensure the current stall spacing (now bound to diminish) doesn't encounter throttled back speeds of charge as some of the supply will be a solar mix coming down the pipes.

This is a problem.
Side location of charge point on Audis, plus SUV, plus dumb-ass driver means 3 stalls get taken up by one non-Tesla vehicle.
However, this e-Tron seemed to manage ok.
Also a Polestar charging successfully

Re: Open access Supercharger trial begins in The Netherlands
Educate them politely.
Give them a chance, otherwise ring tesla assist & get them to monitor the charger in use which will presumably hold all the vehicle data, feels can take action for dick-headery perhaps followed up with a quick (sly) photo from us.
We want easy peasy not EV-peevey

Aberdeenshire to Cornwall visiting family with the kids took 18 hours instead of 12-13 last time. That rather scarred my wife.

There's always the bus, try it on a Sunday ...with luggage.

Re: Open access Supercharger trial begins in The Netherlands
Interesting.
The Tesla and Polestar have their charging sockets on the left hand rear quarter. The Audi Etron has its on the front right. Thus they should both be able to connect the same, albeit with the Tesla and Polestar reversing in and the Audi driving forward into the bay.
However, my VW ID 4 and my old Mitsuibishi Outlander have their charging sockets on the right hand rear quarter.
One would have thought that there would be some standardisation of location, or at least the manufacturers of the charging equipment would install their 'pump' in the centre of the bay so that the cable could reach to either side to the car. Gridserve Rugby has this arrangement.
On the subject of Gridserve, I get annoyed when they describe a location having, say, 4 chargers but they are double cable chargers and only one cable can be used at a time. This means that in practice there are only 2 chargers instead of 4.

Fat eTron has two charging ports - one on each side - which one is the DC charger?

Re: Open access Supercharger trial begins in The Netherlands
From what I've read Gridserve is saying they are waiting for sign-off on a software update from ABB to enable these units to be able to charge on both cables simultaneously.
