There has to be significant overhead for Octopus if the people involved are also being paid an export rate, especially if Octopus doesn't actually want the extra power. And proportionally that overheard gets larger the smaller additional payments become.

Given they passed everything on in yhe last saving session maybe they will test what happens when they are stingy?

I doubt it will be that low, its only a little lower volume requirement than last time (175MW vs 200MW) and bids up to £2.50 were accepted then.
I would think bids of £2 will be accepted but Octopus might bid lower around £1.50, or even £1.75 again.

Its also going to be a late opting in session so suppliers will not be able to offer the same amount of volume reduction promise. So thats another curve ball, but in our favour.

I had a look back at the last sessions bidding and volume amounts per supplier. There are only 2 big boys, Octopus and British Gas with similar reduction volumes.

Whoever bids lower might push the other out as there may not be enough volume reduction room for both. :cat-shock:

94JDH, you could be right about that £1.

Excellent, British Gas were rejected as they were greedy again and bid £2.30. :pot-stir:

Octopus played it safer and bid £1.50, this was accepted.

£1.69 was the highest bid accepted so Octopus did well. :xx:

But is the Octopus going to give us all the £1.50 or not this time. :?

I wonder if its a misprint or if they are sharing some of the commission they took from the earlier sessions ? :xx:
