Why was that article so repetitive! Almost like it was written by ChatGPT.

Interesting that it weighs just below 1000kg - that's basically unheard of these days. 27kWh battery explains that and it's range, and ultimately low price - hopefully changes the direction of the market away from 3T "luxury" SUVs...

Agreed, there seems to be a lot of AI articles these days on the snooze pages, just makes me feel safe in my job for the time being as AI clearly isn't up to the job just yet!

I can see this car being the entry level vehicle for lots of urban, town and city dwellers, I would consider it as a second car for the school run, shops and trips across the county etc, worth watching the second hand market for that purpose once these start to get in to the UK market.

Maybe they will not be the cheapest by a country mile? I came across this article in several places this morning:

https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new- ... mini-china

range varies from article to article but never the less when you look at the cost of this and what you get compared to say the Citroen Ami which is coming to the uk at around £5k then its getting very interesting - The ami has a 5.5kW battery while the Seagull has two options of 30kW (presumably the £8koption) and 38kW.

I've seen a couple of BYD EVs on the roads in the last few days - are they now officially selling them into the UK rather than just being grey imports?

That Seagull will use a Sodium Ion battery I believe?

Doubt they'd get 250 miles out of a 38kWh pack though not unless you're averaging 32mph or something like that.

Its going to be interesting watching the cheap EV market develop over the year, and reading up on test drives and real world user experiences.

I'm not sure how much difference it'll make in reality. Dacia make some of the cheapest ICE cars and they've hardly disrupted the market.
