Is the HP running OK Ian?
We are now down to 15kWh per night from grid to run a bit of SH and charge batteries to start day around 50% soc. Looking forward to the bigger storage capacity soon.
HP is running well, Vaillant engineer just checked over the PCB connections and could find nothing wrong so looks like it was just a loose connection.
SWMBO was sceptical that it would keep the house warm but I've had to reduce the heating curve as she was saying it was too hot!
Aye the batteries will help to run the HP on fully cheap rate electric all day.

That's great to hear both for tech and performance. Is it hitting the usage figures you hoped for?

I initially had it programmed with a night set back temperature of a few degrees lower but have since lowered the heating curve and just set it to run without set back on purely weather compensation mode. Living room temperature consistently sitting at 25C so intending to take the heating curve down to 0.4 from 0.45.

Don't have to worry about making sure the internal doors are closed as it's a nice even temperature throughout the house (bedroom radiator is off as like a cool bedroom).

Astonishing! Can I ask how many kWhs through an average 24hrs cycle as we are with about 7deg airtemp?

Go here https://heatpumpmonitor.org/ change the Min Days to zero (top right) and scroll down till you find Aberdeenshire and you can see the results so far.

Based on the previous 7 days it has averaged 23.55kWh/day of electric and produced 102.7kWh/day of heat with an average cop of 4.36. This includes the water heating cycles that tend to pull the cop down.

that is really impressive. What makes it so much better than the generally-quoted COP of 3?
