I'm never sure on when you get stung for import.

Under a certain amount (can't recall exactly but about £80) vat is automatically added but not over that amount.


I bought two of those twice and didn't have to pay any duty either time.
I bought from a different seller and sure they were quite a bit cheaper. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006349311630.html Edit- i'ts strange now you can only buy one of these and duty is added so now total is £102.

I bought a 3D printer- no duty.

Just ordered a laser printer- wait and see. Edit £60 odd of duty.

Loading completed at Yantian docks Shenzhen so that will have been our batteries loaded on. Vessel now departed for Singers!

Joe, I was wondering if the NH00 fuse holders will take a 50mm cable into them and maybe 2x 25mm cables stacked on the output? Might save a post or two doing that.

You can definitely stack 2x 25mm cables on one side of the NH00 holder, at least the model I've used.
I installed a friend's setup with 5x Pylontech US3000C, split across two banks into the same fuse holder, works well.

Things are starting to trickle in. My BMS JK-PB2A16S-15P just arrived. 2 A active balancer with 150A throughput. However, I bought 2 at the same time and got stung with customs and handling fee. There is also a special offer on at the moment so I the first two I purchased where £115 before Vat. They are now £102 and there are coupons on aliexpress for £10 or more off depending on your order size. I ended up paying £67 for import costs on the first two. So worth a look at the moment if you are considering them. The coupon doesn't appear to work multiple times so might be worth applying to a couple at a time.



Thanks to Joe I have a hammer crimper And also a cheap set of wire cutters for my 50mm cables.

Man, these have dropped to £88. I'd have saved £140 if I'd waited :<

Even at £85 Aliexpress adds vat. Ebay does as well even to tiny purchases.

Yes the supplier outside the UK should apply local VAT to sale price, as long at the total is below £135 then you don't need to pay customs import duty and UK VAT on top.

The 3D printer that I bought at about £325 had no vat added and no duty when I received it. Same with the 2x BMS at £185 in total.

The laser printer at £555 with no vat added has £64 duty.
