Small things matter
Re: Small things matter
Thank you AGT, got some colour on the walls today. A small further panel addition for led striplights and a coathook or 3.

Re: Small things matter
Started the workshop tidy as Bootroom build is mostly done and it looked like a bomb hit it (the workshop, not the Bootroom).
The old tablsaw and a few other bits & bobs were earmarked for the dump. Turned out though that I had 100kgs of mild steel and it was worth !
Weighed it in instead and then went directly over the road to Matthews Chiness supermarket where I upcycled the into noodle packs for the nuclear bunker and also noodle cups for No1's snack at work.
I'm not sure there is a moral to this tale but I'm very happy with the result.

Re: Small things matter
Haha I keep them in the kitchen at work too, when I forget to bring lunch/ and then don’t have time to escape up town to the shops for a bit.
And a bag of porridge too for the same reason in the morning if the routine at home has changed unexpectedly

Re: Small things matter
I'm porridge in the morning too, as part of my non diet... diet. Gets me over the 10.30/11am hunger gap. Lost 3kgs so far.

Re: Small things matter
Finally got around to why a Bootroom is indeed a Bootroom. £2 used windbreak from Moray Wastebusters ( an astonishing outfit). Inverurie hang your head in shame.
Actually, I'm going to get in about our local council tomorrow and find out why they are not mirroring this exemplar of recycling fortitude? Please have a Google or FB of them, outstanding!
First polyurethane coat baking. The tin of polyurethane was collected from a garage sale by SWMBO years ago and has been waiting for all those years on a shelf. The flat board is the last shortboard from the original build purchase of storm felled timber. I am genuinely tickled by that.
Finally, the 4 screws holding the posts in place came out of my recycled screws tin tub. The power tools were all solar powered.
Look, I know it doesn't have to be this way and a lot of guys literally don't have the time but my goodness, the smile on SWMBO's face and my satisfaction at getting it done in this the correct fashion. Bloody brilliant!
Will the lack of recycling centre here in a 12,000 population town be cui bono? I do like a hunt.

Re: Small things matter
Bootroom now complete. Last shelf went up this morning and SWMBO has carried out a wellyboot test. Approval has been granted! There shall be much movement of small things, likely for years. Happy days!

Re: Small things matter
Thanks Ian,
A new wrinkle in its use. Roasting in the Shire today as you know, just cut the grass and now sitting in shady nook with a book and a cuppa.
I had given that absolutely no thought, yet it is brilliant!
Meanwhile, up above...
How good is that? If you need a hand with lifts if you go DC expansion then happy to help.

Re: Small things matter
Yeah, the sun makes a welcome return... Not often you need to shade from it up here
Good to see your DC kicking out the watts and I'll keep that offer in mind should the other panels appear!
Just working on the battery system but switch on is still a while away.
