Ah, but if you pay a lot more from a Santander 123 current account you get 2% cashback - and you can withdraw as much of the Octopus balance as you want whenever you like. I have discovered that they wait for a new (manual) meter reading before actioning it though... Which seems odd if they have current smart meter readings available.
2.0 kW/4.62 MWh pa in Ripples, 4.5 kWp W-facing pv, 9.5 kWh batt
30 solar thermal tubes, 2MWh pa in Stockport, plus Congleton and Kinlochbervie Hydros,
Most travel by bike, walking or bus/train. Veg, fruit - and Bees!

Holy cow, how did I miss that one ?

I have a Santander Edge Up account which pays 1% up to a max of £30 on direct debits, I currently earn about £4 a month from DD's.

1% a month , and cashback is I believe tax free.

Lets see how this ends up.
