Absolutely loving the sundowner with Bowie playing. Kills me though that these are not outputting...

Fortunately, the 5V kingdom continues to get it done where it can. :D

That's handy, four of 250W poly panels to collect in Leith on Friday morning when we land. £40 a panel.

Get them up the road in the EV. They fit, just. :D

Hopefully they'll fit the shed roof too.... there may be slight overhang.

I think I'll run them in 2 pair parallel on an HMS 1000 2T.

Nice. Been looking for some too, might stick some new ones on the garage wall for another 1.5kW.

The guy has 9 in total, 5 left. I'm pretty sure I've seen him advertise before so maybe an installer recycling after upgrade jobs?

I had a look at the original tech sheet for the panels. They make much of the 15.4% panel efficiency. What would that be 10years old+?

Here's my electric bills for May & June into July.

In May, myself and two cousins were out for a week. 152kWh power used at a cost of 204tl (£4.97).

In June SWMBO & a pal were out for 10.days. 413kWh power used at a cost of 759tl. (£18.51).

Image

Nowty, we can see the blame lies firmly on the ladies and the HWT use?

3.26p per kWh average in May is rather good. June 4.48p per kWh is driven by the day/night rate difference. Multiple day and then evening showers and more air con is the driver there. Although power per kWh prices rose 10%+ May to July.

Hence the balcony PV out here is just a train set/hobby from a cost return perspective

Got in touch with one of the Marmaris Vestel shops yesterday afternoon via whatsapp. Said they could come over on Wednesday and fit the HP inverter aircon, price 22,500tl (small cash discount) £548.

I didn't book it as that's the day before we go home. I've instead knocked it back to Oct. We get here late on the 22nd, system going in on the 23rd. Price may change a little due to inflation. Current village rate is 41tl to £.

As a part on No1 son's RE journey beyond his balcony solar we decided to remove his Economy10 dual meter set up and go for a smart meter installation. It was a real palaver due to a shortage of qualified engineers in our area. As a result of my complaint to Octopus on the cost to No1 of dual meter charges ongoing they have sent this today.

"Hello Joe,

I hope you are well.

I have been looking into the compensation for the open complaint we have on Martin's account over the move from eco 10 to a single meter. You first contacted us about this matter on the 25th of February and the meter was removed on the 30th of July. A total of 155 days between the request and the installation(we do apologise for the time taken and appreciate your patience with us). The stand charges for the additional MPAn over the 155 was 60.18p/day (60.18p * 155 days = £93.279). As a resolution to the open complaint, I would like to offer Martin an account credit of £200. Please let me know if you are happy with this resolution.

I am still working to get the now redundant MPAN removed from Martin's account. I am still very much with you on this. This I am afraid shall be a lengthy process. I shall be with you for the duration and shall keep you updated as things develop.

Please let us know if there is anything else we can help with.😊

I hope you have a terrific day.

Kindest,

Ash D 🐙"

Heading up the road tomorrow via Leith Friday morning to collect the four used 250W Kinve panels in the EV.

I'll test the Hoymiles 350 1T for Turkey Oct trip against the Enphase units at Workshop and hot tub. Will be able to see a direct live DC output comparison via a DC clamp using the Sharp panels.

This way we'll gain a little knowledge on micro inverter performance for any future small.scale projects.

That's great. No1's £200 compensation from Octopus has landed in his account. Bought a couple of hive plugs this morning to control his HWT & storage heater. He is now £350 in credit with Ripple, KH income, DW on the horizon (far) and his balcony solar is getting it done through the day. He'll soon be in the £1 dd per month club. :ugeek:

I'll get a look at the reading on his two week old smart meter export side and know how much he's giving up to the grid on a daily basis. From there I'll set his HWT for daycharging 11.30 to 13.30hrs at his peak generation time.
