Subaru Solterra ev

Does anyone have any experience of the subaru solterra ev?
I'm wondering about getting an EV, and looking at lease plans - there seem to be a few really cracking deals around, including the solterra for under £200 per month on a 2 year deal (+ 12 month deposit) - works out at around £300 per month all in, which doesn't sound bad for a £50k+ ev!
I like the look of it, and the 4wd could be useful living in the frozen north, but Reviews suggest that the range is not great,( and fast charging not so hot either) , probably 200 miles, real world, as long as you avoid the top spec model with 20" rims!

In an ideal world would like an EV6 or ioniq 5, but they are quite a bit more

The lower powered (smaller battery) Ioniq 5 has as much HP as the subaru solterra and is cheaper?

Spec advertises permanent 4 wheel drive. I drive my I-5 in 2 wheel drive most of the time.

As an entry EV into the market, I would be a bit careful - I don’t know what the reviews say (but they usually hype up the good points and overlook some of the down-sides). The Toyota look-alike is not that popular?

Tesla model Y is the most popular and that is due an update shortly, so there may be some discounting of the old model?

The one good point might be the relatively short lease?

I was leaning towards the Kona, but it didn’t have a large enough boot for me, at the time. The new Kona is due out with an AWD option at some time?

But as you were asking about the subaru, I’ll stop making alternative suggestions and let you carry on your way.

Is purchasing/ownership out of the question?

Some of the stock I have been perusing recently has taken a monstrous hit on the second hand market.
Buy a more expensive product and because the painful initial hit has been taken by the first owner, there should be a slow of valuation reduction.

I saw something really encouraging whilst looking on auto trader for i-paces..... One that had done over 290k miles in 5 years. I would love to know the exact cost of ownership of that car and what had gone wrong in it's time.

The Solterra EV is a badge-swap version of the Toyota BZ4X - so any reviews you can find for that apply to the Subaru. Main comments are that it's a solid effort, typical Toyota build quality, but there are alternatives with faster charging, bigger range and generally better software cleverness - essentially all the EV-specific bits of engineering that Toyota is playing catch-up on. But if you like it and it suits your needs, then does that matter?

Thanks - at the moment, I'm not looking at buying one - the very low lease rates have made me think - over 2 years, the Subaru costs just over £7k, which is well below the amount of depreciation that even a nearly new version would suffer. The Ioniq 5, even the smaller battery version is more like £70 per month more expensive, probably because it is more popular / better liked / reviewed

36 months 10k Pa, 9 months up,front was £299 a month mid September but it has jumped up.
Best is the long range TMY at the moment, 5k up front, 10k Pa £399 per month.
Select car leasing have the same car at £677 pm 9 months up front.

Some of the deals seem to vary almost daily - I was idly looking at an ID Buzz commercial last night, which was on at £240 per month. This morning it is up to over £400 per month!! Something to do with end of month targets??
