Probably not what you want to do if not your house, but if you have some you could build your own and shift the pylontechs over.

I must admit to being tempted to grab 32 and selling my pylontechs, give a bit of leeway over the winter months.

I just don’t get enough time regardless of how tempted I might be to build my own.

It’s my house but the batteries are located in the utility room so I will try to keep it looking neat for the MiL’s peace of mind and aesthetics.

One day though that annexe will be upgraded to something more befitting the space it has available for ahem “green crap”

For neat looking try the Pylontech Force L2, electrically similar and close in price to the rack mounting ones.

MiL is now officially smart metered up! going to give it a few days to collect some usage data and then select one of the tariffs previously mentioned on here - its already a win for her though as she is using the display and already realising she isnt using as much as she thought she was.

They have 5.6kWh of storage to play with assuming DoD max 20% so 1kWh for 5 hours at peak tariff, they eat at 4:30pm and then settle in front of the TV for the news etc the cooking is all electric but other than that the background running is circa 400W/h and they don't run the kettle after 4pm either, so I think they would be ok on Agile if I can programme it to charge between 1:30am and 4am then turn off until 3:30pm then on to power the house off the battery until 8:30pm then off battery and on grid to charge again at 1:30. Sounds straight forward enough and I know most inverters have this functionality, I just have to hope their Solis does too, its a DC linked unit whereas mine is AC tied so I will need to brush up on its manual again.

Hopefully a few months on this and she will be amenable to an ASHP

I wonder if you can get her onto Cosy? The cheap slots are easier and if she does all the energy intensive stuff 1300 to 1600 she can probably use entirely cheap rate power. Maybe need to blag a little but might be possible with only a plan for an ASHP.

Moxi, a friend of mine is going to be selling 5 x US3000C Pylontechs later this year once I get his DIY battery stack installed.
If more capacity is needed for your MIL then let me know.

As of last week I have been moved to Cosy without needing to provide any evidence I have a heat pump (though I do).

Compared with Agile the rates and cheap periods are pre-determined so the time schedules on battery inverter, zappi and HP are all set-and-forget.
