I'm thinking something like below if stuck with 1722mm panels:

1. (Shouldn't have to overshoot at all)

2. (If bottom right narrows in too much and has to overshoot the gutter)

Richard if it was my garage and it was going to overshoot the gutter I would just have the tops of all the panels touch above the ridge line, it's quite a low profile roof anyway.

Yeah that sounds a good idea.

I don't mind overshooting the edge of the roof, but ideally not the gutter. The installer didn't seem happy when I suggested panels in a portrait orientation and just wanted to put them on horizontally.

Maybe because on house roofs they don't like going so close to the edge for ease of working round them and/or not dislodging the edge roof tiles etc.
