Gave up reading that rag a while back, I doubt they could write a balanced article these days even if their lives depended on it !

Loads of heat pumps round here, can't hear any of them screeching for the noise the snow making machines are making :joker: :freezing:
Seriously though gas boilers and decent kitchen / bathroom extractors make more noise than a heatpump although it is possible that the lower frequency sounds from larger fans may be perceived as louder.
Living the dream in Austria.

I'll happily chat with anyone.

No progress today as guys were elsewhere. Hopefully we'll see progress Monday. Small company, time critical job came up, no wahallah! :D

He has, he's a good lad!

Both Bartek & Jim are excellent enthused folk. It's not just a job with them.

What with the lower temps inside and restricted heat sources I've found another wall that needs insulated. It's 2.2mtr high and 5mtr long and runs at an embarrassing 5 degree lower temp on the worst spots than a comparable wall.

Please don't ask how I missed this before....

Found it now and thinking to cover with insulated plasterboard. Is 25mm thick insulation and 12.5mm p/b a reasonable internal upgrade?

Its the only thickness we could have on our old house gable due to stair width. It made a massive difference but at that thickness, go with phenolic not standard pir plasterboard to maximize it, like kooltherm k118.
