Answering my own question, it seems there is a total of 35GW of gas generation plants in the UK - so there's a bit of headroom there yet - but I guess they get more and more expensive to fire up?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_a ... 035.7%20GW.

You have to take the Northern Ireland ones off and also factor in that not all of them will be operational. Some will be either in planned or breakdown maintenance.

So do we play again tomorrow?

Does anyone remember when we had a few days notice of SS?
12x 340W JA Solar panels (4.08kWp)
3x 380W JA Solar panels (1.14kWp)
5x 2.4kWh Pylontech batteries (12kWh)
LuxPower inverter/charger

(Artist formally known as ******, well it should be obvious enough to those for whom such things are important.)

Dont get down lads, I'm sure this is a temporary glitch in the matrix and a more workable routine will present itself for you shortly, only 9 more days till the shortest day and then everything starts to improve again.

I have a certain amount of faith in the Octopus team doing the right thing by their customers (look how I have changed! ) and I am sure the current behaviours are all part of a plan to get you back to a more normal situation at a sensible level of reimbursement.

In the mean time think of the rest the batteries will be enjoying

46p in North Wales, happily the weather is brighter today so MiL is managing on solar for the most part, does make me think though that for the winter months in future a fixed rate for 3 months might be the better option - marginally.
