Find the heatgeeks in your area desp. Do not accept less than a top flight install. Fintray led by example and I've tried to match that in my own build. Next up will be an A2AHP install in No1 son's house. But not today.
I have a couple of Heatgeeks locally, I shall certainly see how much they are quoting, I'm prepared to pay more for a better install, but there are limits.
Yours seems to be ticking along nicely now, hitting the H 6 or D on your Emoncms link gives some nice graphs, and we all like a nice graph
My bill came to £19,500
For that
£500 is the level 3 monitor system
£1000 went towards two specific tall vertical rads to qualify specific room area btu's where we had space retention req's.
That leaves an £18,000 bill which incudes a total of 11 radiator upgrades/fitting, a 7kW Valliant ashp, a 200ltr hwt, wall mounting that HP. Upgrading all upper floor flow and return pipes from HP to upper manifold and down to lower manifold to 28mm. Full insulation of same. A small CU extension, breakers, iso switch etc.
Of that £18,000 I have a grant for £7,500 so it's costing me £10,500 for the job before I add on my extras. That's a -4.75 deg based job on a 7.9kW heat loss calc. I didn't seek a 0% loan for the job but they are available.
Now I'm on the other side of the rabbit hole I can honestly say it is worth the upheaval. The groundfloor pipework upgrades are worth the other £1,500 I spent on extras, so I'd say that for £10,500 I've got a mint well specced, beautifully installed custom system that will save me a fiver a day for 20 years. That day price guess is purely a focus for the return that I gave no thought to during or before the build.
P.S that's £36,500 if it came through.
I did it for the craick, the comfort, the good old premise of "what if" and finally two fingers to all the dreadful people with no precog ability that can't put 2 and 2 together then get sold a basket of crap and bitch about it. The dreadful part comes through no due dilligence on what is a massive system in home.
I look forward to seeing what you get Ronski and if I can help in any way please ask. Plenty here will be willing to.
