ASHP & triple glazing
Re: ASHP & triple glazing
Good news that the 3G guys have been in touch, guess that means they passed that test
Re: ASHP & triple glazing
My heat meter is on a vertical pipe prior to the diverter valve and there is an AAV on each of the outlets of the diverter valve.Joeboy wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2025 1:37 pm Aberdeen Air Source been in touch saying they'll fit another aav close to the heat meter. That's great, I had a look at it yesterday and it is on a very horizontal run of pipe. Maybe the impeller housing is machined enough to trap air?
Swmbo is fancying some sort of nature feature wall.
3g guys will be here in half an hour. That's 2 phonecalls from them in one day!
SWMBO looking for something like this, just a thought!
3.87kWp PV
10.24kWp PV SolarEdge system
Tesla Powerwall 2
100 x 47mm Navitron tubes (still being installed!) Now likely to be removed for more PV.

Morso 5kW WBS
Vaillant AroTherm 10kW ASHP
Nissan Leaf

Nice wall! She is fancying a paper wall and some plants. Sounds good to me.Fintray wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2025 1:56 pmMy heat meter is on a vertical pipe prior to the diverter valve and there is an AAV on each of the outlets of the diverter valve.Joeboy wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2025 1:37 pm Aberdeen Air Source been in touch saying they'll fit another aav close to the heat meter. This is how our setup looks. Once I've finished messing about in front lounge I'll be into the loft to maximise it's utility with the new layout. Note split in insulation and that's not a bend!

The flow meters usually state to have a 0.5M or so clear pipe run either side to prevent flow disturbances, I would suggest the AAV is placed in the flow to the heat meter at least 0.5M back.
Which model of flow meter do you have?
That gap in the insulation looks like it goes all the way to the bend, squeeze the edges together and apply some tape or tywraps to it.

Re: ASHP & triple glazing
I'm not sure of the make Iain, will see tomorrow morning. I'm going to tape all the insulation in there. Thanks for the 0.5mtr guide.Fintray wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2025 3:13 pmThat sounds much simpler than the green wallJoeboy wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2025 2:04 pmNice wall! The glazing guys have seriously redeemed themselves, had every detail we spoke of months ago. The glazing is going to go in March.
They're leaving me the small window to play with.

Re: ASHP & triple glazing
That is good, I was hoping it was not a window they were going to fit for you as the beading looks a bit mangled! (The ones on mine were mint)
Re: ASHP & triple glazing
Yeah, that beading has been on and off a few times...

Re: ASHP & triple glazing
The unit being so small.(demo) made it a pig to get the beading in. I like the black bars
Also that you can't see the middle pane unless looking at the kite marks.
One of the guys came up with the excellent idea of making the lower and triangular units one piece. We said yes so they're away to see if it can be made at that size.
Roll on March to see these in. Went for top hung on all windows that are openers.
