The info needs to be on the DNO paperwork so unless you have multiple mains supplies I’m sure the DNO will record and probably do nothing about 80kW plus installs

Like most stuff regarding electricity and DNOs and related regulation, I cannot imagine any situation where your battery capacity will be measured or audited. However in the event of a problem such as a fire, even if the fire is not battery-related, you can expect to be hauled over the coals for not complying with the regulations.

The DNO forms ask for battery capacity can remember if it’s the G99.

Just checked my DNO, and even on the lowest category of G99 fast track (inform only Form A3-3), they now ask for battery capacity (kWh) on the form.

Yep, same as if you changed your inverter, DNO should be informed to ensure compliance for equipment connected to their network

It's quite a big deal though, isn't it? This makes it quite a lot harder and more expensive to install home batteries. Will also worsen the perception of them, making people think they're more dangerous than they actually are, which might inhibit uptake.

The regulations smell very strongly of some chief firefighter who has learned most of what they know about the risk of battery fires form the daily mail! I think the misinformation and irrational fears is already baked in...
