That’ll be due to there being two databases, one residential & one business. I’d suspect the #10 is a business address?Krill wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2025 3:05 pm Actually I think there are security implications to this data. I've just raised a complaint, I want to see where it goes in relation to GPDR as well.
As an aside, it doesn't give the data for 10 downing street, but it does give the data for some parts of RAF Stafford.

Re: Outgoing Octopus - question
When it searches the post codes, it gives business address as well as residential. For business address it comes up with an error, but for 10 Downing Street it just does not have the data. I suspect that such data is never provided to go into those databases (for the obvious security issues).
The other point is that I wonder how they actually meter for the residential flat opposed to the rest of the building?

I think it is just based on how much energy was used by the meter in the 12 months preceding last time they sent data to the database.Krill wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2025 4:57 pm When it searches the post codes, it gives business address as well as residential. Thought that would surprise you guys.
Absolutely scandalous i think, it if all you guys can see what i can as well then its clearly a tad naughty.
Can just imagine grandma being phoned from her 'electricity company' and asking her to switch bank accounts or something. it would sound 100% plausable if you could tell grandma her suppliers name and physical consumption. Awful liberty i think - but where do you complain?

I found the above web page and then sent them an email, stating how I believed they were the data controller under GDPR, I believed the information they held was personal information, and asked them to stop sharing it. They can't really answer that except by refusing, and at that point take I'll it to the ICO. I also raised the security concerns, but the scam angle would be a good one to take.
If they agree to remove my information I'll come back with "Well why are you still sharing everyone elses' personal data?"
If they come back and say "wrong place to complain to" then I've already got a way in. And depending on how that get plays, dropping it on the Martin Lewis twitter will probably get a tasty reply.

Re: Outgoing Octopus - question
I shall do the same Krill and use the potential scam angle in my complaint.
Heres my bill, its 100% accurate.
