Probably a bit of both !
18.7kW PV > 109MWh generated
Ripple 6.6kW Wind + 4.5kW PV > 26MWh generated
5 Other RE Coop's
105kWh EV storage
60kWh Home battery storage
40kWh Thermal storage
GSHP + A2A HP's

Here on the fens edge the clouds were ominously black around 12.30pm yesterday, a hard but brief sleet & storm winds set in which as I write are still banging things around.

They've built houses in front of my view of the W/T's now so I cant see the rapidity of the spin..
It has been "trying to snow" with a few flakes last night from around 10pm but was too wet to stick.

There was I thinking this was meant to be a northern storm!

Unless these turbines are small ones (a few kW) the blades will spin at constant speed while generating?

The Carsington group of wind turbines are all about 2.5MWp. In today’s storm, 5 have been stationary, one is moving slowly as though the disc brake is ineffective and the last one is operating at the speed one would expect when working.

The situation with those 7 wind turbines is the same today even though the high winds have gone. It’s Sunday and maybe they need human intervention.

Maybe they have lost their connection to the grid?

Will it or wont it tonight, for a record, there is enough forecasted wind resource and it is a weekday.

And it is decidedly chilly, so more power consumed local to the landfall, meaning there may be less of the generation needing to be shifted across the grid system.🙂

And instead of the usual mid afternoon dip, its still rising, looks like only another 1.5GW to make the record.

Maybe the Xmas lights on are helping too.
