Also started to trim back the HW times as not needed so long what with the rising outdoor temperatures. Odd for me at a first pass that the HW heat is not a constant.

Round my way the temperature of the incoming cold water feed varies dramatically according to season. In very cold weather it can be 3℃ in summer it can be as high as 14℃. That'd make a huge difference to the amount of energy required to heat the water.
I'm not sure the local water main is as deep as it should be!

That's looking at it from t'other end of the scope! You're right, sorry. Nothing to see here (came within .015 of the 8's an hour ago)...

Also, in unrelated and likely made up news. Our 5 bedroom house cost 63p to heat yesterday incl hot water. 63p.
Which of course it didn't as we were exporting. Nonetheless, 63p. You really do have to live it for it to click into place, the actual reality of it I mean.
It's all lies of course, heat pumps are rubbish, right?

The next bit is made up too.
Seeing the 24hr count drop to almost 8's (that'll be nine kWh then) it led me on to thinking about what the 3G will bring. Is there a scenario before Scottish Summer (best 3 days in August) arrives when i"ll see as low as 5kWhs power drawn? Will I see cop's of 8? That seems nuts. Made up of course, nothing going on here.

Our heat pump is coming up for a full year of operation in a couple of days, SCOP is 4.12 so no complaints here either.

That is brilliant Iain! Do you have figures for the year before to compare it? I am agog at what these units do. In particular in lower irradiated areas like ours. Solar gone? Yeah, yeah!

We only had about 4kWh solar today. That leaves 4.8kWh to pay for. (33p). Although I'm exporting at half load the noo. So that makes it another zero cost day. Sorry I'm.banging on about it but it's surreal this early in the year.

So 30640kWh from HP would need c.3404 litres if oil boiler was 90% efficient, avg. cost of oil =60p/L which gives £2144 (incl. VAT).
£2144 for heating only, whereas with solar PV, battery, HP and Ripple my electricity credit balance has increased by £486.44 over the year for all my electricity use (18588kWh).
P.S. WBS has not been used since HP was installed.
