Looks like Brighton is going all-in on public EV charging.

That's a huge investment, £130m. Could be a little naive if they imagine Joe public coughing up 39p/kWh when alternatives are available at only 7p.

Don’t see many public chargers at 7p a kWh round my area?

Great investment

The comparison is with home charging! Those lucky (hardworking) enough to have a private driveway buy the fuel for their car at 7p/kWh while people who live in flats pay 39p. Hardly seems fair.
12x 340W JA Solar panels (4.08kWp)
3x 380W JA Solar panels (1.14kWp)
6x 2.4kWh Pylontech batteries (14.4kWh)
LuxPower inverter/charger

Our neighbour is having a gulley fitted into the pavement in front of his house so allowing him to run a cable through to charge with. No idea what the upfront cost is.

Definitely less than nearly £22k! Maybe they are expecting visitors, to the town, to be charging up throughout the day?

That is a decent solution. Relies on your neighbour being able to reliably park directly next to the gully though.

Yes, indeed. However, as he uses ours via CoCharger presently I don't think I'll be turning him away in future should the need arise.
