I specified that I wanted the HG engineer as my point of contact in my email, but its been that the way since Saturday, he is also the guy I was to contact in the event of any problems last week, so he is clearly more senior.
There is a filter fitted on the heat pump return, it's located in the uniTower.

I'm pretty sure the power flush is not going to happen this week, but at least there is a filter.
I think they were pretty up against it time wise, although there were no rad changes, it was an awkward install, and trying to do it in four days, with only one experienced plumber was always going to cause problems. Same guys are doing another this week, in four days, and it sounded more complicated than mine.

Truth? I know it's 20/20 hindsight but there's no way I'd have allowed them to start a tight 4 day install with two apprentices in tow. BTW, who the hell said there's a 4 day limit? There's absolutely zero chance that I'd feel any sympathy for them either. You need to be Mr Bastard and get every bit of efficiency out of that system before signing off on it. I hope for your sake that you held back a portion of the bill payment. You'll be living with the decisions you now make for a long time.
Mr Yuff, pay attention, get intae them.Make sure it's done your way not what is easy for them and speak about it all upfront. Sounds like you've got a decent engineer there who knows the score. All the best with the build, Ronski too.

The company is clearly trying to chuck in HPs as fast as they can, using barely-skilled labour. Absolutely zero sympathy for these kind of operators. You owe it to society to demonstrate that allowing 5-days and sending 2x qualified and experienced plumbers, as well as a few apprentices would've saved them a HUGE amount of hassle and stress and time and money.
It'd be great if they did;t need to learn this lesson the hard way, and even better if you didn;t have to be the one to teach it. But hey ho...

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, on day one I didn't really know they were both trainee's, or how green they were, and when booking it seemed feasible that four days would be enough, considering no radiators or plumbing on that side to alter, and the base was already installed.
As posted here previously, until I'm happy I don't approve the BUS grant payment, so £7500 can be withheld.

I know and I'm not beating you up about or with it. I'm onside with you. I was 22 days but at least the hwt was always active in one form or another. For me your critical path to recovery is an all stop until the powerflush is done. Let the Vailant guys change out boards etc and test it as far as they can but don't run it up until it's clean. I've not seen the photos of installation but by the sounds of it you're on it with the list to repair.

Thanks Joe, once it's communicating we can use the immersion, but I'm sure that will pump water around the primary pipe work.

Third Vaillant engineer spent another two hours on site, and despite trying multiple things including another PCB he still couldn't get it to work. He was told by Vaillant to order more parts, some of which have already been changed.
I told him that's not happening, I'm not accepting a unit that's had that much work done, he said he has to follow his instructions, so I need to speak to SGS.
Luckily SGS were already leaning that way, even their electrician who was on site this morning said it's getting stupid and they should replace the unit.
So I've told them via text and email I'm now not prepared to accept that unit, and as the unit now needs to be changed, it will be an ideal time to do the power flush and other items.
I told him that's not happening, I'm not accepting a unit that's had that much work done, he said he has to follow his instructions, so I need to speak to SGS.
Luckily SGS were already leaning that way, even their electrician who was on site this morning said it's getting stupid and they should replace the unit.
So I've told them via text and email I'm now not prepared to accept that unit, and as the unit now needs to be changed, it will be an ideal time to do the power flush and other items.

I would be having a word about compensation for loss of amenities too! The replacement unit should be discounted to SGS who can pass the benefit straight through to you for any inconvenience like having to go to the launderette to wash clothes travel to friends and family to wash etc etc

Good news Ronski. Keep at them. An email a day etc. Start strong and ramp up. The key phrase is "I understand, but that is unacceptable".
