*And with SWMBO away I have 2 more panels arriving from City Plumbing tomorrow for another upgrade on the charge controllers. I'm hoping she will have forgotten about the current rear garden PV configuration on her return. "

I’ve turned my forced discharge off. I’ll spill any excess to the grid but won’t import anything until tonight’s 2330-0530 slot is over.

In that we differ. I won't plug in tonight but I will charge the stack. Fingers crossed.

I was thinking they might credit the difference between how much electric you used last night minus what you use tonight…

That’s the problem here, no one actually knows what the rules are
I’m not going to change anything and see what happens but there was a similar offer about a year ago and it wasn’t worth the half price leccy, but that may have been in winter and I would need slots during the day.
I probably could get from this morning, until 5.30am tomorrow, without importing but I’d lose out on several hours of export at 15p as I don’t have enough battery capacity to export at 4.6 kW until 11.30pm tonight.

Yeah, it is pretty poor that whichever marketing goon produces the customer comms couldn’t be bothered to understand mechanism and communicate it to customers!

Yes will be doing the same here, no extra gamed slots but the 6hrs of fixed 23.30 to 05.30 cheapslot will still be used to charge the home battery.

Topping up hwt again post apocalyptic swmbo morning usage and also adjusting Victron SC for top end switch off. Another slot running up to 09.00hrs All 👍, groaning at the seams!

This seems to just be for EV people. Maybe those of us with plain domestic batteries haven't got enough capacity to be worth including in the experiment (or whatever Octopus are up to.)
I'm guessing that EVs with 10 times my battery capacity can have more effect on the grid for less admin costs
2.0 kW/4.62 MWh pa in Ripples, 4.5 kWp W-facing pv, 9.5 kWh batt
30 solar thermal tubes, 2MWh pa in Stockport, plus Congleton and Kinlochbervie Hydros,
Most travel by bike, walking or bus/train. Veg, fruit - and Bees!
