I think I'm up against IQ and programmed response patterns here. It is good practice for me dealing with other people from other walks of life. I don't like it but there we go!

I have requested that the two companies work together to get the new unit here to our home with minimum stops or reloads.

We'll see how it plays out. I paid a 20% deposit at the beginning. It is very much on them to get it right if they want to be paid.

They are an Aberdeenshire based and a national firm with an Aberdeen office.

Before. Hopefully an after before midweek.

Wrongly specc'd door set and upper glazed unit oot.

Hoping they'll get to the front door too today.

Finally settled on a blinds choice. To get cream, extra wide, electric & twist & go install we were chasing our tails so went for the same as upstairs which we had landed on by fluke with all the functions we hoped for.

All blinds together coming in at £2,300. A fair pile of cash but tiny compared to the £7,700 quote. We managed to re use the two North facing Venetian blinds as only a few years old and essentially like new.

Doorset in and opening the right way. We can now allow ourselves to enjoy them.

Front door tomorrow which is another step in improving the building envelope. :xl:

There is some slight vagueness in when the first trap window is going in. Tbh, they can take as long as they want. The cash isn't changing hands until it's all done. :D

Still the right side of happy here although we did have to remind them to remove door stopper top sliders from old frame and fit on the new one. Details weird eh?

New front door is in, absolutely excellent 👌

The trapezoidal fiasco continues. One apparently arriving tomorrow to be fitted Thursday with the second arriving Thursday to be fitted Friday. I won't be holding my breath!

I've communicated my thoughts to where the initial mistake was in the cascade of events and that I'm keeping £500 back. It's the best I can do as I'm not vindictive.

Thank you, floods the gloomy hall with natural light. Really quality fitting. 08.30 to 15.00 hrs. Two men. Hence only £500...

Looks great, is the glazing opaque or is it a screen behind it?

Thanks Fintray, it is opaque. Lights up the North facing hall beautifully. Luminous even at the days end. It's a Palladio door.

Thumb lock, no letterbox and wireless 2 receiver doorbell on its way.
