Results are in

30kWh Victron
26.3kWh Solaredge

114% Victron over Solaredge. That'll do for a starter indicator after a late start in the day.. 8-)

Still working out best way to set up the panel fallout from the Vanport build. 7 panels still to site. Will see how the Hoymiles dtu lite performs and go from there.

Regardless of future panel shuffling, it is nice to have the Vanport outputting. :)

Off to a good start, sun is shining and at 07.15hrs the Victron has taken the lead.

It always takes me a while to accept this in a new string when it's done, it will simply sit silent pushing out power for the next 30 years at least. An incredible bargain :xl:

Interested to see what 10am will bring in generation? All Tree and hedge shading will be gone by then :D

The existing 1kW 4 panel Hoymiles set up will go aloft as the sheds they are currently mounted on are coming down (boo hiss) to make way for gates. The single remaining 550W panel out of the recent 4 panel purchase will also go aloft and be hooked into a 1T 500W Hoymiles. I'll be doing some AC work to populate the vanport with power & compressor too. :ugeek:

I am going to standby on purchasing the Hoymiles 500W 1T until Octopus Collective payout in June. Its not a lack of funds but I want the direct connection of that RE investment paying for a RE improvement home component. 8-)

There was a little light rain yesterday and I was working away under cover oblivious. A pleasant surprise to walk out from under into it.
SWMBO furniture restoration has already seen three pieces through the vanport for work. It's all coming together nicely.

I think it's time for the turnip to come down. :( It never did output much and it's going to be shade on the next string going up there. Will reuse the feed cable somewhere.

The split is around 8kW per AC/DC, slight in favour of DC and more so once the last 1T 500W Hoymiles is live.

A nice test today as once again hit & miss. During miss we are seeing 3.3kW in these conditions.

I don't dread it anymore! :D

During Hit we are seeing close to 9kW incoming when I factor in the AC micro's.

Peak once we've rejigged should be just North of 10kW.

Slightly mixed bag today.

Hoymiles dtu lite arrived, paired to wifi no problem but when HMS 10002T micro was paired to it a message popped up in installer app saying comms different between the two. Hmmmn. Mail off to supplier who is offgridtec in Germany. Worst case I'll pop it back to Amazon next week.

Better fun was has drilling 2 of 16mm holes in gable end for DC in and AC out. Building up the mounting and boxes too for 6mm DC cable upgrade.

Midway through the day and Victron is leading at 18.6kWh generated to Solaredge 15.5kWh.

There are 2 slightly different DTU lite sticks, the first one I got from Amazon did the same. Had to send it back for a slightly different one that actually states compatible with HMS rather than just HM.

Thanks pudding. Good man. Glad you mentioned it!

I thinks it's pish that they don't make it loud and clear for idiots like me who are buying on a flyby and not delving into it.
2 in a row? Something is missing.

P.S for anyone else buying it for HMS series. It is £41.30 not £30. A quick indicator for which you are looking at. Replacement ordered. £30 unit heading back to Germany tomorrow.

I can't believe it has taken me the whole day to put this together. :whako:

Main isolator to kill the incoming array as is. Smaller isolator for a future project..

At least this part is 6mm upgraded and MC4'd for next part or future issues!

No rush! Take your time, check, double-check, get it right!
12x 340W JA Solar panels (4.08kWp)
3x 380W JA Solar panels (1.14kWp)
6x 2.4kWh Pylontech batteries (14.4kWh)
LuxPower inverter/charger
