And I understand the scheme, other offsetting schemes I could be just being ripped off.

For £35 per month over the WT1 25 year operating life, that's over £10k and could have bought you 6kW of the turbine which would generate you 16,000 kWh per year or 400,000 kWh over its lifetime AND would have handed you back over £1.5k in its first year of operation !

And whatever you do not use yourself, that's the carbon offsetting, like exporting from solar PV.

I estimated that I will see around a 16% return in Yr1. That 16% will likely be used for further RE investment and on we will go. I would rather be invested in RE where I control the roi and its direction. Although I can see the appeal of buying carbon credits its a 1 way street so not for me.

And my investment in WT1 has come from less than two years of my Solar PV FIT income. All my FIT income has been recycles into more Solar PV and more batteries, more insulation, better windows and doors etc. The original Solar PV system was paid for using zero percent credit cards deals and later offsetting against my mortgage which is still under 1% APR.

I enjoy the continuous conveyer belt of cheap financing of renewables, and then wash and repeat with more renewables or energy efficiency. And like Joeboy I want control over where the cash is spent and where I can see the benefits with my own eyes.

Always fascinated by the idea of a perpetual motion machine. 👏 In a certain light and with eyes squinted we could almost have a virtual RE investment perpetual machine going here. :)

23.166kW, that'll do!
That's everything on running&charging that is likely to ever be on at the same time.

EV
HWT
Home batteries
4 storage heaters
Washing machine
Tumble dryer
Dishwasher

Another 0.8kW load once we have the I5 and max out the easee one. That'll be us at the 100A limit. SWMBO just had a crash course in load shifting, no worries. :) Incoming leads from grid barely warm.

Today I upgraded my tails (on my side of the grid isolator) from 16mm to 25mm. At the same time I added a grid voltage and current readout so I can easily see how high it goes.

Head back after 23:30 to see some amperage action.

Cheapslot time with both EVs and home battery charging.

Voltage sag rate around 1v per kW.

Has this turned into a competition?

What was the temp of your cutout/tails?
12x 340W JA Solar panels (4.08kWp)
3x 380W JA Solar panels (1.14kWp)
5x 2.4kWh Pylontech batteries (12kWh)
LuxPower inverter/charger

(Artist formally known as ******, well it should be obvious enough to those for whom such things are important.)

Nah, maybe, wanna join in? :D
I am well chuffed with the ramifications of upgrading supply, fast charging EV(compared to granny) and storage heaters offsetting gas. Well worth shouting about in the hope that it helps someone else have an  moment on their setup.

Back onto original subject, the morning linda has not updated for 5 days on coastal marine traffic and is due at Suez on 23rd Jan.

I barely hit 10kW and then only briefly. No immersion, only one small storage heater, and no BEV (at the moment). By midnight I'm only pulling 2-3kW (I'm on the 2030-0030 cheap period).

We are pulling around 60kWh per day at the cost of £3.30. A 10p discount for the 1.5kWh of FIT so that's £3.20 to run and pretty much heat the house and SWMBO is also pretty much caning the EV pack every day going out and about. I can live with that cost over the Winter months! :D

Went past the supermarket fuel station the other day and it was £1.455 per ltr for petrol. £6.62 per gallon..

Okay we have the WS running and every now and then the GCH will fire up downstairs at 06.30 (once in ten days). You get the point though, by living the lifestyle and even being geographically challenged for PV at this time of year (buildings & trees) we can still perform. March to Oct its a no brainer but these bad old Winter months is where I enjoy the challenge! 8-)
