We went from 100% soc in the stack at 02.30 down to 75% soc by 10.30 and as the sun begins to fade (for me) we are back up to 81% soc. Washing machine has been on as has electric hydraulic log splitter and air compressor when I serviced the van today oh yeah and an electric heater this morning. I'll have to give some thought to my changeover switch to move solariboost from grid to solar soon.

P.S around 3kWh pv today, amazing how it can be stretched! Heck, it's not that long ago my background load would have consumed more than that.

That's just it I don't think many of us would have thought about the positioning of our houses regarding future RE suitability as when I bought mine, home PV more or less didn't exist or was prohibitively expensive. If building a new house that would be a different matter.

If I were ever to buy another house a big, rectangular, south-facing roof would be a "must have". Unfortunately it wasn't a consideration when we bought this house.

I see a lot of perfect, unadorned roofs. My next-door neighbour being a perfect example. He'd get 8kWp up there easily and cheaply.
