Sorry to hear that too,

How about trying to use it to your advantage though and ask them for a discount as a token gesture for the poor customer service - either they can give you something against the deposit OR they can add some accessories on to the yet to be confirmed order.

If nothing else they will understand your frustration and you may actually receive some, justified in my opinion, recompense.

VW have increased prices several times since I placed my order but my price is locked, including the pretty decent discount I managed to secure. On top of that, "in-stock" models are currently selling for big premiums above RRP.

I've heard of American customers who placed their order for an iD4 over a year ago having the dealership cancel the order refund their deposit then advertise the car for sale at a premium over MSRP (RRP). While I'm a bit worried about this, particularly as I've seen the same model as mine (different colour and no towbar) advertised for £20k more than I'm paying for mine. However I don't genuinely think dealers in the UK are as shady as those in the US.

I guess the car has gone down the production line but some component was missing at the time so the car is sat waiting in the "rework" lot.

Who knows. I'll keep you updated.

Still worth pushing for stinsy, the VW group know how late they are into mainstream EV & therefore early sales bringing their credibility upwards, ..go get em, if only to claw something back for those lies about emissions that put us all at risk.

It means that cars that should have been built in Dec 2021 still have not been built yet. I am guessing week 6 is last week so your wait will likely be another 2 or 3 months or even longer.
