I have 1000 watt of PV in the shed and would like to feed into the house , the house has a ferrari's counter ( with a turning disc)
I can get special produced wall socket for this idea
Its more or less a short therm solution until i go off grid , but even then it still can stay
My questiopn is , during the day i am out of the house and primary only need electricity in the evenings ( ok fridge is on all day )
So am i right that the el.meter will stop or tun backwards during the day ? And reduce my electricity usage

In the UK some go backwards but some have anti-reverse and just stop, some (not sure which) manage to record you production as usage so you get charged for anything you export

My understanding based on UK and American systems is that most rotary disc meters have a small spring ratchet that prevents back spinning - in this case you will stop the meter advancing but will not turn back the units previously consumed at your property - this is the better option as you are not defrauding the utility of units of electricity that you may otherwise have used in the evenings when your solar isn’t available.
If the meter does spin in reverse you should consider other options such as a small 24v system. It’s also worth noting some meters had a small “flag” that was raised in the event of tampering and reverse flow to alert the meter reader so knowing the exact meter type is crucial to avoid any miss-understanding.

Ok i see , i guess i just have to try it out , probably will cost me 200 Euro for inverter and that special feed in Socket another 50 Euro, so in total that will be without my labor a 470 Euro per kW install ..... thanks to our Ex -Forum Host for the sale at the end

Gives me something to do and think of towards more to come ideas of energy supply to that house with a stream on land
I suppose the socket connected GTI will later than backfeed the Off-Grid Inverter -charger as it worked for me in Ireland

Got to agree leaving the panels in the shed isn’t an option but definitely liaise with the supply company to avoid miss- understanding.

Am sure you are right , Moxi , but to be honest
, knowing authorities in Ireland and Germany ( might be even more chewing ) i may just say goodby to Hollywood again and cut the powerline to the supplier
Anyway will sleep on it again , as i have a south facing farmhouse wall and a very humid downstairs , the Panel mounting idea has a second meaning of a dehumidifier

Cutting ties with the Grid is one option, checking the meter type to see that its anti reversing is another, off grid is another and the last is what some people have to do in parts of America where they have an inverter that is set to always allow a small import say 20Watts so that their solar connection isn't obvious. Y&H do an inverter of this type

The various hybrid inverters however give the same sort of functionality with more benefits at a similar price and this was why i abandoned this option in my own plans,
Ultimately each option has its benefits and issues and you need to determine whats best for you at this time but I would suggest that if your power needs are modest then maybe the off grid system based on 24V or 36V to start with LiFePO4 is the right option? You can then expand as funds allow?
My personal journey at the cottage here is to reduce my grid reliance as much as practicable and the end goal is to try and spend as many days as I can just using the batteries and the sun to run the house - I know I will have the standing charge to maintain grid connection but maybe once I know the loads, requirements and my own power generation capabilities better I could leave the grid for a few months a year before re-joining ?

colleagues of mine from a German windforum say that my meter will turn back during the day
Or i just bit that money bullet and get a battery bank and an 5 kva off grid Inverter and much more PV now and tell the el.supplier to collect his meter and his bills
As i am used to fork lift or similar batteries , i will not go the Lifepo or Lion route as a bigger lead capacity battery works better in an off grid idea
