Octopus saving sessions coming 1st Nov
Re: Octopus saving sessions coming 1st Nov
Another event tomorrow between 17:30 and 18:30, there is more wind but not much more.
I've made sure I've opted in this time.
I bet my father wins again without even knowing it.

I have opted in with Eon-next so I guess I will have indigestion tomorrow evening after fish and chips.
No chance of any energy in the battery, we have had a run of days with less than 1kWh, so it has sat at 10% for five days.

Re: Octopus saving sessions coming 1st Nov
Oh wow, this feels almost targeted at me. I have just installed my first batteries. Right now 10Kwh is only lasting me until just after lunch as I only get a few hundred watts of solar. With a minor change to the SOC targets on my SunSynk inverter I just switched the battery to keep enough charge until 17:30 to easily cover this period. Means I will be paying for electricity in the morning but that is all the same to me. I may save a few KWh for the grid and even gain some points/money..
The funny thing though is the incentive is then to revert my battery back to the morning to ensure I always have a great consumption history at the busy time. I guess they need Agile to be back somehow competitive to encourage folks like me to stay away permanently from the costly hight consumption times. However here is where the biggest mistake has been made. If Agile was actually lower cost than the price cap on average, it would lose its price cap (assumption based on what happened to al the other intelligent tariffs). So they would ensure you never make a saving by doing the right thing.

Re: Octopus saving sessions coming 1st Nov
I got a big fat 0 for my last savings session even though I was fully off grid and at least 2 days in the 10 before I was on grid during the evening (batteries didn't charge and wife decorating)

Re: Octopus saving sessions coming 1st Nov
I used all my prime roof real estate with evacuated tubes from elsewhere
I have squeezed 2.725 kW PV on a flat roof that is never shaded and 3.24kW on a flat garage roof that has all sorts of challenges in the winter but great in the summer. I mounted both this Autumn so best day so far was in Oct where I generated 12kWh. Yesterday was 1.3kWh
Re: Octopus saving sessions coming 1st Nov
That 1.3kWh would have outperformed most folk yesterday as flattish panels do better in cloudy conditions.sw25481 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 30, 2022 12:21 am I have squeezed 2.725 kW PV on a flat roof that is never shaded and 3.24kW on a flat garage roof that has all sorts of challenges in the winter but great in the summer. My 13kW of panels only made 1.6kWh yesterday, second worst day for me in the entire year.
We've been getting a good variety of DIY installs recently and it gives others ideas of where panels can fit when otherwise suitable places are overlooked.

This time I have definitely opted in and am now fully OffGrid.
